Accounting Plus Wins BBB TORCH Award
Columbia, Mo., Sept. 24, 2018
Accounting Plus is a 2018 winner of the Better Business Bureau (BBB) TORCH Awards for BBB Serving Eastern & Southwest Missouri & Southern Illinois.
The TORCH Awards recognize businesses that exemplify high ethics in their treatment of customers, employees and suppliers. Three businesses are being recognized in 2018.
“BBB TORCH Awards recognize companies that are committed to exceptional standards and high ethics,” said Michelle Gleba, BBB Columbia Regional Director. “These organizations have truly joined BBB’s mission of advancing marketplace trust in an exemplary way, and they are role models for other businesses in the community.”
Accounting Plus is an accounting and tax firm serving more than 4,500 customers during tax season and more than 500 small businesses year-round. It has been serving mid-Missouri for more than 25 years.
Denise Nelson, partner and investment advisor, says the TORCH Award “symbolizes integrity, honesty, and good business practices within the business community.”
Nelson called the firm’s BBB Accreditation “a form of validation that we’re a reputable business. It provides more assurance to those customers who might search us out.”
Accounting Plus and other TORCH Award winners -- along with one Student of Ethics award winner -- will be recognized at the BBB TORCH Awards luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, at Champagne Ballroom, 3919 S. Providence Rd., Columbia. Zach Paul, KRCG-TV chief meteorologist, will emcee the event.
Tickets for the luncheon are available at $25 a person, or $250 for a table of 10. Patron sponsorships, which include reception tickets, are available for $150.
